Wikipedia - Isthmian League

Isthmian League er en fodboldliga i London og Sydøstengland for semiprofessionelle hold og amatørhold. Ligaen blev grundlagt i 1904, og ligaformatet er skiftet flere gange siden da. I dag består ligaen af tre divisioner: Premier Division, Division One North og Division One South.

Sammen med Northern Premier League og Southern League udgør Isthmian League niveau 7 og 8 i det engelske ligasystem. Vinderen af Premier Division samt vinderen af et playoff mellem nr. 2-5 rykker op i Conference South.

England – Isthmian Premier Division er det syvende niveau i det engelske fodboldligasystem. Ligaen består af 22 hold, der spiller mod hinanden to gange i løbet af en sæson. De tre øverste hold rykker op i National League South, mens de fire nederste hold rykker ned i Isthmian League Division One North eller South.

Isthmian Premier Division blev grundlagt i 1977 og er en af de mest traditionsrige ligaer i England. Ligaen har produceret mange professionelle spillere, herunder David Beckham, John Terry og Steven Gerrard.
